Java Software Developer

Are you intrigued how your Java code powers a fleet of towering, robotic cranes needed in ports to
deliver the flow of goods worldwide to their destinations? We are looking for a Java Software
Developer with a passion to get the most out of solving complex problems and make our software -
TEAMS ECS - even better from our office in Rijswijk.

TEAMS ECS – the Equipment Control System for controlling vehicles used by container terminals –
makes it possible to automate container transport at the terminal. This software runs on the most
advanced and automated terminals worldwide.

The machines that TEAMS ECS can control are continuously developed and we help you to keep the
practical knowledge about functionalities and specifications up to date. As a Java Software
Developer in the team, you will learn how the fleet is controlled and gain more insight into the
complex challenge of how we get a fleet of robotic vehicles from A to B as efficiently as possible,
without accidents.

Our international customers place high demands on our product in terms of safety, stability,
scalability, performance and security. To make this happen, we need your analytical skills, creativity,
ability to collaborate, and passion.

As a Java Software Developer you will have or be:

• Demonstrated work experience or interest in Java software development
• Familiar with the most common Java libraries such as spring boot, Liquibase
• Experience with IntelliJ, GitLab, Maven and UML
• Proficient in English, both written and oral (language is Dutch, but communication is often in
• English)

As a Java Software Developer you are interested in:

• Front-end development with JavaScript frameworks, such as Node.js
• Software architecture
• The Agile/Scrum methodology

You will get the opportunity to be involved in the following as a Java Software Developer:

• Developing TEAMS ECS so that we can help the different customers with their challenges in a smart and safe way
• Gaining knowledge of TEAMS ECS, the how and what of a container terminal
