NIBC's Finance department is looking for a Junior Controller.

The Finance department ensures that NIBC is compliant with applicable laws and regulations regarding financial and regulatory reporting. It enables NIBC to effectively steer the organization with timely, reliable and relevant information. The department continuously works on refining the design, implementation and maintenance of the operating model that fits NIBC’s business strategy of frequent development of new commercial efforts. Strategically, the Finance department aims to be the central information provider for the bank, including the delivery of forward-looking information. What will you do?
Within Finance, the Accounting & Control department is responsible for IFRS compliant accounting and safeguarding Internal Control. The department is in charge of financial control for the whole of NIBC, ranging from Frankfurt to Brussels to London. Furthermore Accounting & Control comprises amongst others product control as well as business control. Depending on your experience and background, your scope will be within either treasury, corporate or retail banking. Besides the month-end closing procedure your involvement will be required in topics varying from IFRS valuation queries to business cases related to new products. Knowledge of banking and financial regulation is not a prerequisite, but your role will include exposure to such regulations and interest in those will help you succeeding in your position.
Who are we looking for?
- Bachelor and/or master's degree in economics,
- Maximum 2 years of working experience
- A background in Finance and/or Accounting
- Fluent in English & Dutch
Personality & skills
- Affinity with IFRS and Dutch GAAP
- Always looking for improvements
- Team player with a positive mindset
- Willing to learn how IT applications and data warehouses work
- Willing to understand financial and banking regulation
